It feels like cheating to be able to do this so well only because he has a few extra months on David back home, but when he sinks into David's embrace, he's not intending to fight it. Once he's there, he wraps an arm around David's waist and stays, because it's been given to him, and he has no intention of abandoning it.
"I mean, it's still just a coffee maker," he protests, a stubborn little voice reminding him that the best gift is sitting in a bank safety deposit box, but they don't talk about that. It's not the moment to talk about that.
He gives David a pleased smile, though, and it means a lot to him that David likes it so much. "Definitely the sentimental one for last," he insists, reaching for the first. "Am I going to find some passive-aggressive fashion suggestions in here?" he teases.
